Safety & Community Guidelines

At Mentrix, our goal is to create a safe, respectful, and positive environment where individuals can connect, learn, and grow through mentorship.
Mentrix is a platform that connects clients with independent mentors. Mentrix does not provide mentoring services directly and does not supervise sessions between mentors and clients.
All mentors and clients are expected to follow these guidelines when using the platform.
1. Respectful Community
All Mentrix users must treat each other with respect and professionalism.
Users must not engage in:
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Bullying
- Threatening behaviour
- Inappropriate communication
- Offensive or abusive language
Mentrix is committed to maintaining an inclusive environment where people feel safe and respected.
2. Mentor Responsibilities
Mentors are independent service providers and are responsible for the sessions they offer.
Mentors must:
- Provide accurate information about their experience and qualifications
- Deliver services professionally and responsibly
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients
- Communicate clearly regarding expectations, pricing, scheduling, and session details
- Adapt activities according to the client’s abilities and needs
- Follow applicable safety standards in their field
Mentors are responsible for obtaining any required certifications, permits, training, or insurance necessary to provide their services.
3. Safety During Sessions
Some mentoring activities may involve physical activity or other risks.
Mentors are responsible for:
- Creating a safe environment
- Taking reasonable precautions
- Informing clients of relevant risks
- Using appropriate equipment and facilities
- Following applicable safety practices
Clients are responsible for:
- Communicating relevant limitations or concerns
- Following reasonable instructions provided by mentors
- Determining whether an activity is appropriate for them
4. Mentoring Sessions Involving Minors
When a mentoring session involves a person under the age of 18:
Parents or legal guardians are responsible for
- Approving participation
- Selecting appropriate mentors
- Providing necessary information regarding the child
- Ensuring appropriate supervision arrangements when required
Mentors working with minors must
- Maintain professional boundaries
- Communicate appropriately
- Follow applicable laws and safety requirements
- Prioritize the well-being of the minor
Mentrix recommends that mentors working with minors obtain any appropriate background checks, certifications, or training required for their activity or jurisdiction.
5. Communication Guidelines
Mentors and clients should communicate clearly and professionally.
Users should:
- Confirm session details before meeting
- Use respectful language
- Avoid sharing unnecessary personal information
- Respect privacy and confidentiality
Users should not request or provide inappropriate personal contact information or communication outside the purpose of the mentoring relationship.
6. Meeting Locations
Mentors and clients are responsible for agreeing on appropriate session locations.
Recommended locations include:
- Public facilities
- Professional studios
- Sports facilities
- Approved learning environments
Users should consider safety, accessibility, and suitability when choosing a location.
7. Reporting Safety Concerns
Users are encouraged to report concerns involving:
- Unsafe behaviour
- Harassment
- Fraud
- Misrepresentation of qualifications
- Inappropriate conduct
- Violations of Mentrix policies
Reports can be submitted to Mentrix Support at michelle@mentrix.ca.
Mentrix may review reports and take appropriate action, including:
- Requesting additional information
- Removing content
- Suspending accounts
- Removing users from the platform
8. Mentrix’s Role and Responsibility
Mentrix provides a platform to facilitate connections between mentors and clients.
Mentrix does not:
- Conduct mentoring sessions
- Supervise mentors
- Guarantee mentor qualifications
- Guarantee session quality or outcomes
- Control the relationship between mentors and clients
Mentors are solely responsible for the services they provide.
9. Prohibited Activities
Mentrix prohibits users from:
- Providing false information
- Offering illegal services
- Engaging in unsafe conduct
- Using the platform for inappropriate purposes
- Misusing personal information
- Violating applicable laws
10. Policy Enforcement
Mentrix reserves the right to investigate reported violations and take action when necessary to protect the community.
Actions may include:
- Warning users
- Removing content
- Restricting access
- Suspending or terminating accounts
11. Changes to These Guidelines
Mentrix may update these Safety & Community Guidelines as the platform evolves.
Updated versions will be published with a revised effective date.
